This Privacy Policy describes how Jidoc ("we", "us") handles your information when you use the Jidoc mobile application and the jidoc.io website (together, the "Service"). Jidoc is designed around a simple principle: your knowledge belongs to you.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign in, we receive your basic profile from your sign-in provider (Apple or Google): name and email address. We use this only to authenticate you and associate your content with your account.

Captured content. The items you save in Jidoc — links, text, documents, screenshots, and images, plus anything pulled from sources you connect — are stored on our backend and tied to your account, along with the AI-generated summary, mind map, entities, and search index we create from them. We do not sell, share, or use your content for advertising or for training AI models.

Profile and "About me". Anything you enter in "About me" (your role, interests, and the people, products, and jargon around you) is stored with your account and included with processing requests to help the AI get names and terms right.

Device and diagnostic data. We may collect basic, non-identifying diagnostic information (app version, OS version, crash logs) to keep the Service reliable.

2. What We Do Not Collect

• We do not access your photos, files, or clipboard except for the specific items you choose to capture or share into Jidoc.
• We do not collect your location.
• We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
• We do not sell personal data to anyone.

3. How AI Processing Works

When you capture an item, its content is sent to an AI provider (currently the Google Gemini API) solely to generate the summary, mind map, entity graph, and the embeddings that power search and grounded answers. The content is processed under that provider's API data-handling terms and is not used to serve you ads. You can delete any item and its outputs at any time, which removes it from backend storage.

4. Connecting AI Assistants and Sources (MCP)

You can optionally generate a connector link that lets an AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) search and read your knowledge base, and you can connect sources (such as Gmail or Lark) for Jidoc to pull items in. Connector links grant access only to your own content, and you can revoke or replace them at any time — which immediately cuts off the connected assistant. Sources you connect are accessed only to import the items you authorize.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your content remains stored until you delete it. Deleting an item in the app removes it from backend storage. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time — see how to delete your account, or contact hello@jidoc.io.

6. Security

Data in transit between the app and backend services is encrypted with TLS. Access to stored content requires authentication. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@jidoc.io.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
